I was speechless, numb and felt out of sorts when I learned of this terrible tragedy. I don't have words to express the sadness and heaviness I feel in my heart. I must therefore look at the happier times we shared with Brian. I remember when he first came into our karate dojo - a little shy and nervous but he quickly made many friends. It was not because of his high kicking ability but because he was such a humble and likeable person. He was so serious and focused but at the same time very kind and considerate to everyone. He was an inspiration to many and kept the spirit high, often pushing others to the next level. Brian will always be remembered as "the guy that couldn't kick low" (a problem we all wish we had). We miss Brian dearly at Camarillo Shotokan Karate. May everyone whose lives Brian has touched embrace him with fond and loving memories.
To Heather, girls and the Ladin family, our extended family share your grief! May we all find solace in the memories we've shared with him. We miss you dearly brother!

To the Ladin family,
I had the pleasure of getting to know Brian thru the Karate dojo in Camarillo. He was a talented martial artist who caught me more than once with his quick, athletic kicks! More importantly, he always trained diligently, inspiring me to continue to push on and do my best. I found him to be smart, funny and energetic - he will be missed by us all. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I am deeply sad and so sorry for the loss of Brian. My prayers are with your family and I hope you can find some peace with the wonderful memories that you have of your son, husband and father. Brian was our Partner at Ernst & Young and part of our "family". He was often described at brilliant and he was just as kind as well. For years our paths crossed in the office and it was always a pleasure after seeing him work hard all day to see him get on his motorcyle and head home. He will be terribly missed by all of us and I hope you can find strength and peace in knowing that he was a wonderful person who had a tremendous impact on many people.
