Kato, Yoshio "Yach" 86 years, proud WWII Veteran of the 802nd Div. U.S. Airborne, "Yach" was an avid golfer whose kind and gentle manner brought happiness to all who knew him. Beloved husband of 59 years to Jeanne, loving father to Sharyl Kato and Kriston Kato, dear grandfather of Christine Nelson, Carey Kato and Brian Kato and great-grandfather to four, fond brother to Mark (Joanna), Frank (Nancy), Aki Kato, Carol (Clyde) Moesinger, late Harry (Sachi), late Ray (Lois), late George (Arlene), late Teddy (Jean) and late Sue (Wally) Wong. Memorial Visitation Friday, 2 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6:30 p.m., at Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL, 60657. Our sincere condolences to the entire Kato family on the loss of such a gentle spirit. "Yach" has always been the epitome of grace and dignity; good natured and always quick with a smile. I'm so glad we were able to see him at Amaya's christening. A true gentleman and family icon; he will be missed by so many.
