To Matt and the Tobin Family,
While I have never met Mr. Tobin I had the pleasure of going to school with his son Matt at HCC. and is a close friend. My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Tobin family. I wish I would have been able to make it there tonight for the wake but could not.

To the entire Tobin Family ...
I knew Bill thru my childhood days as a friend of his sister, Patty. However, he remains a vivid and well respected part of my memories, and I am a better person for having known him. He has left an indelible mark on my heart, one that I am very honored to carry with me all the rest of my days. May you all be comforted during this difficult time by knowing that Bill is not suffering with his illness any longer, and that he is in the memories and hearts of many. I will continue to pray for all of you.
Love and peace,
Mary Gunther, Des Plaines, IL

Dear Mrs. Tobin, Annie, Tim, Murphy, Dan & Matt,
Mr. Tobin has been a very special and dear person in my life ever since I can remember. I suppose this is mainly because he was such a great friend to my dad - which was not always an easy task! It’s also because he was such a kind and dear man, who always took an interest in what was going on in both my and my sisters’ lives. It may sound strange since I haven’t seen Mr. Tobin much lately, but since my dad passed away, I’ve kind of viewed him as my surrogate dad. I have always enjoyed and looked forward to receiving his Christmas cards, and running into him on occasion at Walgreen’s. I will miss him, his kind heart and his great sense of humor. My most sincere condolences and thoughts are with all of you during this very difficult time. May all of your happy memories of Bill/your dad help to get you through this difficult time.
Love, Debbie O’Donnell Helfenbein

Anna & Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathies & condolences on your loss of Bill. Bill will forever be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to family & friends. His wit, sense of humor, and often timely remarks made him one of a kind. Bill was sensitive, compassionate, and always looked at the best in people, which made Bill an outstanding Police Officer. It was a pleasure to work with Bill at O'Hare Airport. Bill will be in our prayers and I know that he will keep and ever vigilant eye on his family. He will be missed.

Anna Meade Tobin,
My heart & prayers are with you and Matt and the rest of the family.
I just came across the post card you sent me from You & Bill's first trip to Hawaii together. It's dated 1984.
It reads: "I'm in paradise and I'm in love. What more can I say?"
God bless,
Lisa Couch-Gilliard

Bill, you have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. You were one of the kindest men I have ever met, as well as funny and sincere. You were my father's partner and BEST FRIEND! He loved you with all his heart.....quite a feat.
You were the first person to convince me to try something other than just cheese on my pizza..onions of all things. You were able to do it by asking me to trust you, which I did..and liked it.
When Dad had his heart surgery a few months before my wedding, I told you that you might be the one walking me down the aisle. You told me that you would be honored. I am so glad my Dad was there to do it, but if he wasn't, you walking me down the aisle would have been MY HONOR!
You two have probably lifted a few pints and maybe even had a couple of shots by now. Please keep each other safe once again.
I will never forget you. I love and miss you.
To the entire Tobin Family...
You are in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories help you through this time.
Love,
Eileen O'DONNELL - Mc NICHOLAS
