William Tiedje Obituary

Tiedje, William W. "TJ" 84, of Sun City, Huntley, at rest February 20, 2006. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Weiland) Tiedje, loving son of the late Peter and Alice (nee Alpers) Tiedje, beloved father of William P. (Patti), Edward, Robert, Timothy (Peggy), Charles, Margaret, MaryLee (Robert) Johnson and TerryLee (Kelly) McCann, loving brother to Peter (Carol) Tiedje, loving brother-in-law to Terri (John) Freudenberger and Lois Weiland, loving grandfather to 23 grandchildren. William served in the Army during WWII as a Master Seargent in the 967th AAA Fun Bn on 90MM anti-aircraft guns. During his 38 months in the Philippines, Luzon and New Guinea he was awarded three Bronze Battle Stars. He was owner operator of Franklin Rug & Carpet Mart of Maywood. He was an avid trap shooter, a member of the Maywood Sportsmen's Club, a life member of the ATA and the NRA, and a member of the Huntley American Legion. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Huntley-Dundee Rd., Huntley. Interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2006, at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley and prior to Mass at the Church on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the National Reye's Syndrome Foundation, P.O. Box 829, Bryan, Ohio 43506, Monarch Hospice & Palliative Care, 1350 Remington Rd., Suite S, Schaumburg, IL 60172 or the Huntley Fire Protection District Program Cardiac Monitors.
