William Rose Obituary

Rose, William 84, of Darien, IL, beloved husband of the late Anne (nee Steven), loving father of Allen (Linda), David (Mary O'Connor), and Paul, grandfather of Stephanie, Laura, Keith and Nora, great-grandfather of three, brother of Beatrice Yager. Veteran of WWII. Retired after 45 years of service as Superintendent of Stores and Director of Transportation for Central Division, Commonwealth Edison Co. Co-founder of the Biddy Basketball Program at Auburn-Highland YMCA. A semi-pro baseball player and W.C. Fields imitator. He was devoted to his dogs, cats and vegetable garden after his retirement. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Services on Wednesday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Toon Funeral Home, 109 N. Cass Avenue, Westmont, IL 60559. Interment private. Info., 630-968-2262.
