Dear Mrs.Norkett, Mary Beth, Brian, Matt & Katie,

I have to tell you, Bill is like a hero to me. I saw him this past summer and although he told me of his illness, it didn't stop him. He truely lived life to the fullest! Nothing got in his way.

I have so many memories of playing in your house and backyard when we were kids. I know Bill touched so many lives. My parents always talked about him and all of you as great friends. He is now in heavan and we will all see him again one day.

Barbara,

I am very sadden to learn of Bill's passing. Though I had the pleasure of meeting Bill only once, I felt as if I'd known him for quite a long time.I don't think even you realized the number of times you spoke of him, and always with love and a good sense of humor. To say you two were very close and loving is insufficient. You two were one and that came through very clear. I have a vivid recollection of Bill from our only meeting -- He was very proud of you and had very kind eyes.

With deepest sympathy and hopes that memories of Bill will sustain you.

Sincerely,

Ray

To Barbara, Mary Beth, Brian, Matthew and Katie: I remember being at your home as a teenager at a party and how welcome he made all of us feel! He seemed to really enjoy all of us being there and talking to us -- a rare thing for most parents with a bunch of teenagers around! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Barb,Mary Beth, Brian,Matt and Katie,

I did not know Bill personally, but as a testament to him is Barb....I needed assistance one time and did not even know Bill, but at the request of Barb, Bill went to take care of a problem I had and gave me the guidance to follow through with rectifying my own problem. My most heartfelt sympathy and prayers goes out to you all in your time of need. Love, Pat

I am saddened to learn of Bill's recent death. Only yesterday, Al Clements called from Wisconsin and inquired as to Bill's health. I was not aware of his death until Tuesday afternoon and I am sorry to have missed the wake and the Requiem Mass. Bill Norkett will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Our thoughts are with you all. Bill was known thruout the Rogers Park neighborhoods as he did his job; but he also genuinely loved his neighborhood and his neighbors. He was always on the street and we hailed him more than once to report something that he could remedy. That was all it took, he followed thru and the situation was corrected. We have missed him in recent months but are confident that he was surrounded by loving family and friends. Our condolences to them.

My older brother Al and Bill were very close "co-conspirators" back to high school's more care-free days.

I well remember Norkett stories filled with humor and good-will. And, at times, was able to witness it first-hand.

My deepest sympathies to all those who will be unable to fill the void left by this sad departure, but trust that they will be consoled by the happieness he left behind.

It will be hard to await the next re-union in Heaven.
