Pat I was so heartbroken to hear of your loss of Bill,or should I say MR. McGee. I was so blessed to have his influence in my life at a very crucial time. I have to say he was the best Principle anyone could have asked for. He set the bar so high for his students that made you want to succeed. I have been blessed to of had him as a Principle and also later on to have the both of you to become friends. All of my love and prayers are with you and always will. Many people will hold Bill deep in our hearts. He was truely a special man.

I am very saddened to have learned of Mr. McGee's passing. I was glad that he was our principal during my tenure at Bloom Trail. He was a kind man, and I always remembered how he referred to us as "the student body" whenever he would talk on the PA, which made me think of him as the father figure of the school. I was surprised to learn that he was the first black principal in the south suburbs, and every time I've driven by the school in recent years, I see the name "William D. McGee Fieldhouse". A great honor for a man who truly deserved it. He will be missed by those of us who attended Bloom Trail while he was principal. God rest his soul.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of William McGee. He was a great educator who endeavored to have a positive, enduring impact on the individuals and institutions he served. Mr. McGee succeeded in doing so in my life and in the lives of many of my classmates at Bloom Trail High School and throughout the South Suburbs. He leaves behind a legacy not of brick and mortar but of lives well-lived.

Mr McGee was one of my heros in life. He gave me a second chance at a young age (13) to do what i loved - play sports. He saw in me what i couldn't see in myself and made me believe in me. He saw no color in people and taught me the same. I will miss him as will all the other lifes he touched directly and indirectly. I Love You Mr McGee. Rest in Peace with God.

Mr. McGee made a everlasting impact in my life. He was my Principal at Rich Central High School in the middle 70s. The (African American especially) students in the far south suburbs were taught integrity and honor thru Mr. McGee's example. Thank you for all that you did for your children.

Please accept my condolences on your loss. I admired and respected Mr. McGee from the moment I met him while a student at Washington Jr. High. Through the years he always greeted me warmly and always had a concern for how everyone was doing. He was a wonderful man. He will be missed. God bless you all and know that you are in our prayers!
