To the family of Bill Leyden,

I am so very sorry to hear that Bill passed away. I have retired from the CPD, and moved to Tennessee, so I have not talked to Bill in a couple of years. I had no idea that he was sick. He was a great guy, with a wonderful sense of humor. I was shocked and saddened to hear that he had died. God bless his soul, and your family. I know he was very proud of all of you. May all of your happy memories comfort you.

Sincerely,

Gerard Clancy

Hello Everyone -

I am so very very sorry for your loss and of course, my love and prayers are with you all. Bill Leyden taught me that the answers only come when one stops to appreciate the journey of life. He enjoyed relishing in each of your successes, so I can think of no greater way to honor him than to continue on your personal journey while keeping him close to your heart. I am out of Chicago right now, so please accept my apologies for not being there to show my respect in person. However, please know that, despite my physical absence, I am always here for you in spirit. God bless you.

Love always,

Mary O'Malley

Bill Sr. and Margaret and all the other Leyden's are "Salt of the Earth" people. I was shocked and saddened by the news that Bill Sr.is no longer with us. He was such a strong, vital, charismatic individual. He was definitely blessed with "the luck of the irish" and the "gift to gab." He will be greatly missed.
