Mary and family,
I was so sad to have read about your dad and husband in the paper. Although I did not know him well at all, I remember meeting many of his students from St. Christina's and know that he was so loved by his family. Please be comforted in knowing that old friends are thinking of and praying for you.

Dear Knepper Family,

I'm very sorry for your loss. Mr. Knepper was one of my favorite teachers at St. Christina. It is sad that future students won't have the benefit of his tutelage.

Mr. Knepper was a sweet, sincere man and a great educator. He was a loving man in all aspects of his life. He will be missed, but my brother is correct. He has begun a new chapter, and is awaiting his family on the other side. He will be missed, but he will remain in his family's hearts and minds, and his former students' as well.

Thanks,

I saw Mr. Knepper over the years at the Open House nights and for Parent-Teacher conferences for all of my children. He made young mothers feel confident and old mothers feel hope. I never saw a man more gleeful at the prospect of a bake sale or the Teachers' Luncheon. Thank you, Mrs. Knepper for sharing your husband with the St. Christina family for all these years! He was a wonderful and true gentleman; we will not see his like again.

May 20, 2009

Mr. Knepper was the most fun teacher I ever had my 4 years at St. Christina School. I'm sure many more past students can say the same. The most important thing to remember is that Mr. Knepper is only gone from this life as he waits for his family in the next. Cherish each other.

Dear Betty, Billy, Debbie and Mary Pat,
I could not believe it. My brother called me today to say that his wife was at St. Xavier's and they were talking about the teacher at St. Christina's who would be missed by so many children and parents alike. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona now but I taught with Bill for more than 10 years at St. Christina. He was joyous, delightful AND always a help to anyone who needed it. He was truly a dedicated teacher and someone that I was proud to be able to teach with at the same school. He always teased me about my name because not too many at the school could pronounce it. I remember him telling me that he was personally glad that I was "Miss Bonnie" and that he didn't have to struggle to try to remember Wasniewski. What a good person that Bill Knepper. A huge loss to so many people. My prayers will be with you. May you find peace and comfort in all the memories you shared with your husband, father, friend, teacher. He touched many lives and will be missed. May the perpetual light shine upon you, Bill.

Dear Knepper family,
I am heartfelt to learn of the loss of someone so special and so dear. I attended Saint Christina school and , though I was not in his homeroom, I remember how he was easy to approach. He went out of his way to meet and greet everyone. My neices and nephews attended Saint Christina and remember him with fondness. My nephew David was in his classroom last year and sings his praise. He will be missed.

Dear Betty, John, Pat, Bob, Jim, Marilyn and all,
God bless you, Billy Knepper! Bill was one year ahead of me in the sem, one of my dearest friends during those years in Momence, Terre Haute and Calabasas. Bill was the real deal, honest, funny, a great athlete, always there for you. There was no one who did not love and admire Bill. He has left a hole in the universe that will never again be filled. Thinking of you especially, John, my devoted friend and patient roommate. My prayers are with you all. We are blessed to have Bill watching out for us. God bless and keep you.

May 19, 2009

Dear Family. I am so sorry that Billy has passed away. Many many fond memories of growing up with the Knepper kids - all the fun we had running around the house, finding all those secret passages. Just a gang of us kids all over the place. Plus the trips to Cedar Lake, all 9 kids and 4 adults, coolers, bathing suits, food all piled in Uncle Frank's car. And the only time they could get us out of the water was for lunch. On the way home it was "I scream you scream, we all scream for ice cream" - of course we always stopped! Precious precious memories we keep forever. My deepest sympathy to all of you during this most difficult time.
