Deegan, William Joseph 80, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Born in Reynoldsville, PA to Leonard and Vira Deegan. He left Reynoldsville to play football for the Air Force, and then Northwestern University. He landed in the south suburbs of Chicago in the late 1950s and remained there for the rest of his life. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou; his daughters, Teresa (Bill) Grandchamp, Kathy, Diane Arnold, and Susan (Jim) McLaughlin; and his daughter-in-law, Mary (late Larry, January 2015) Deegan. He was the loving grandfather to Nicole, Jessica (Joe) Nowak, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Erin, Meaghan, Jason, Daniel, Eric, Jake, and Sean; and great-grandfather to Jayden. He was the loving brother of Raymond (Audrey) Deegan, Margaret Kaiser, and Elizabeth Deegan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Francis and Thomas; and his beloved son, Lawrence. Bill was a proud Air Force Veteran, a Northwestern University Graduate, a mediocre golfer, and a lifelong Cubs fan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Thursday, 9:30 a.m. from the Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 16600 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park to St. George Church, 6707 W. 175th St., Tinley Park. Mass 10:00 am. Interment private.
