William Colston Obituary

William Richard 'Dick', 87, died Monday, October 18 at Quail Creek Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. Mr. Colston was born November 17, 1916 in Marietta, OK, the son of Thomas Grover and Leila Corneila (Buckley) Colston. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1934. He worked in Marietta until he joined the Army in 1941 and served during World War II in the American Theatre. After discharge from the war, he worked in Midwest City at Tinker Air Force Base as a civilian policeman until his retirement. He married Audrey Rollins in 1947 in Ardmore, OK. She is currently residing at the Quail Creek Nursing Center in OKC. He is also survived by 1 daughter: Kathy Close, and husband, Greg, of Clay Center, KS; 2 grandsons: Brandon and Jordan Close; and 1 great grandson: Brayden. Services will be held on Friday, October 22, at 11:00 am at Meadowood Baptist Church, 2816 Woodcrest, Midwest City, under the direction of Ford Funeral Service, with Bob Rutherford Officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meadowood Baptist Church. Ford Funeral Service 305 S. Sooner Rd. 677-9990
