William E. Cavanaugh, U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the age of 74. Beloved former Husband of Renee M. (Al Landa) Cavanaugh. Devoted Father of Matthew William (Angie Hart) Cavanaugh and Melissa Anne (Benjamin Rodriguez) Cavanaugh. Loving Son of the late William "Red" and the late Ida nee Sorg, Cavanaugh. Fond Grandfather of Micaela Renee. Dear Brother of the late Marilyn Cavanaugh. Dear Uncle of many Nieces and Nephews. Loving Companion to Morgan. William was a proud member of Architectural and Ornamental Iron Worker Union Local 63. Family and Friends are to gather for the visitation Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Russo's Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow: Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from Russo's Hillside Chapels at 9:00 AM proceeding to Divine Infant Parish, 1601 Newcastle Avenue, Westchester, Illinois 60154. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated promptly at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery/ Christ the King Garden Mausoleum. For additional information call (708) 449-5300.
