I am a Great-Grandson of William and Frances Brasher via Lester Brasher Sr/Jr (Joe)...

I was doing some geneaology research on the lineage between Frances and Juan Patron...with an interest in the in his role during the Lincoln County Wars...and stumbled across this obituary. My own military service pre-empted any opportunity to attend family reunions over the years, but I offer my sincerest condolences to any kin...to those I've had the pleasure of meeting, and those I haven't..

It was October, 1970, I had been home from Viet Nam 1 day and you and Lem took me to the bar and made me feel like I was really home. You told me to forget what happened over there and start my life over again. It would be the only way to survive. To this day, that was the best tip of life someone ever gave me. Semper Fi and like you and Lem told me "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" I will be in Las Vegas but at 6:30 Chicago time Sunday, I will have my own quiet time and listen to Taps playing in the back of my mind. And say goodbye to a fellow Marine. Peace to you.
