William Brandt Obituary

SALEM * William P. Brandt of Salem died Monday, June 26, 2006, at Albany Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was 66.

Born on October 14, 1939, in Manhattan, he was the son of William & Gertrude Gorskey Brandt.

From 1959 to 1964 he served in the United States Air Force. On September 19, 1964, he married Joanne Javenes.

A longtime resident of Putnam Valley, NY, he retired from the City of New York where he worked as an electrician.

He was a member of IBEW Local No. 3 in New York.

For over 15 years, he was a dedicated soccer coach for Putnam Valley with the East Hudson Youth Soccer League in Putnam Valley, coaching several teams at one time.

Moving to Salem, in 1999, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, music, playing the harmonica and was known to be a prankster.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanne Brandt, of Salem; a daughter, Lori Borbolla & her husband, Frank, of Greenwich; four sons: William G. Brandt & his wife, Rosemarie, of Salem, Eric P. Brandt & his wife, Heather, of Pleasant Valley, NY, Matthew J. Brandt & his wife, Dawn, of Red Hook, NY, and Kristian C. Brandt & his Fianceé, Rebecca, Rivera, of Peekskill, NY; nine Grandchildren: Chelsea, Clint, Lindsay, & Hunter Borbolla and Savannah, Devin, William, Serena, & Emily Brandt; two brothers: Carl F. Brandt & his wife, Patricia, of Troy, and Anthony P. Brandt, of West Wyoming, Pa.; a half-brother Ronald James Brandt; a sister Laura J Figueroa, of West Wyoming, Pa.; many nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, at St. Paul's Evangelist Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs. Rev. James Jaekel will officiate.

After the service, a brief reception will be held at the church.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. & 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at the Tunison Funeral Home, 105 Lake Ave, Saratoga Springs.
