It was Jan 2000 that I had the pleasure of meeting Warren in Burbank CA at the start of our world tour (by cycle) Over the next 12 months, myself, Warren, John Ambler and Tom Gray spent many happy hours in various watering holes around the World. Whilst I have not been able to maintain contact since that memorable year I will never forget the humour and good times we had.
My sincere condolences to all of Warren's family and close friends he will be sadly missed.

I had the privilege to travel round the World with Warren on the Odyssey 2000 cycle ride. His good humour kept us going through the tough times, and he became a very dear friend. We continued to travel together until as recently as last September when he still came with us to France despite the frailness caused by his illness. He was never one to give up easily, and is sadly missed

Dear family: I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Doane. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Doane for many years at Lake Forest Hospital. He was not only a mentor but a wonderful friend. He always had a smile and kind word. What I will remember the most are the tales of his travels. Because of those, I have traveled the world and never had to leave my hometown. We have truly lost a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lived in the same building on Argyle and Whipple during the forty's. I went to Hibbard School ,Von Steuben and U Of Ill. at The Pier right behind him. We had many great times together and shared a love of sports. He would have been proud to hear what his son's had to said at the funeral.
