Memories and Condolences
for Walter Sluzas

Not sure what to say?

Rose and I would like to express our sympathy to the Sluzas family. Knowing Wally over the years in high school, as a co-worker and as a neighbor and a friend, there was no better man. He certainly left his mark on this earth and I am glad I knew him.

Thinking back to our days in high school, Wally was a wonderful person inside and out, not to mention a great teammate. My deepest condolences for you and your family.

Wally made everyone feel special just by knowing him. I met Wally while I was a consultant and he was at Fruit of the Loom, Inc. Wally quickly took me under his wing. He started teaching me about my job and life right away. I could not have asked for a better friend and mentor. He always knew what was right and what was wrong, yet he never lectured me or told me what to do. Wally would simply tell me a story that would help me figure things out for myself. His stories were always right on. I use his stories to remind myself and to help others every day. I learned to love Wally like a father. Wally was the wisest, warmest, most sincere man I have ever had the good fortune of knowing. It has always been an honor to know him and to call him my friend. I will cherish my memories of Wally the rest of my life and I will always aspire to be like he was.

I got to know Wally working with him on the Parish Advisory Council at St. Emeric. I was impressed with his down to earth values and commitment to our "Sharing Christ's Gifts" Campaign. His love of his family was always evident. My sympathy and prayers to you.

My sympathy and condolences go out to the family and friends of Wally. It was a pleasure to work with someone as kind and sincere as Wally. From the receptionist to the executive, he always had a kind word and smile for his fellow workers. When I think of him, a smile comes to my face. May you find comfort in the fact that all who knew him, share in your loss.

Wally was one of the most even-tempered, honest and helpful individuals I have ever worked with or known.

We extend our most sincerest sympathy and condolences to Wally's family and friends.

Darlene, Todd, Jason and Adam, my sympathies go out to all of you. I enjoyed working with Wally at Northwest Industries/Farley Industries/Fruit of the Loom. He was always a stand up guy. I especially admired the work ethic he lived by and the determination he showed when confronting every day problems and personalities. He showed great respect to me when he sent his condolences when my father passed away over six years ago that I will never forget. I think that I can safely convey the condolences of all of the controller/reporting/accounting people that worked with Wally during those NWI/Farley/FOL years, knowing that today we have lost a good man.

It was a privilege and an honor to have met and worked with Mr. Sluzas (Wally) for nearly 16 years. He was a gentleman and showed himself to be friendly, as the Holy Bible says, "a man that has friends, must shew himself friendly." Wally was a friend and shall never be forgotten.

Now may the God of Peace be with you, "and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus." (Phil 4:7)

Love and Blessings,

Rozlyn Wormbly

Myself, Emily, Brian and Kim want to extend our deepest regrets to Darlene and all children. I have always viewed Wally as a stong upright individual who always was unwavering in his high morals. Knowing Wally in high school, college and as a neighbor was an honor. We (I) have been blessed to have known him and will sincerely miss him.
