WALTER RUBLE Obituary

Walter (Jack) Ray Ruble of Lynden, passed away October 28, 2008, at the age of 87. He was born on Six Prong Ranch in Eastern Washington on September 21, 1921and raised on the ranch and in Rochester, Washington, graduating from Rochester High School in 1938. He joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Following the war, he apprenticed as a machinist at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton working there as an inside machinist in Building 31 until his retirement in 1964. Jack was an avid hunter, ammunition reloader and lifetime NRA member. He enjoyed rebuilding cars and other machinery using his machinist talents and logging and bulldozing the "back 40" in his spare time and in retirement. Jack was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
Jack married Wilma Rambo, also of Rochester in October 1941. They had two sons, William (Connie) of Waterbury, Connecticut and Michael (Vickie) of Lynden. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by sister Lorraine Caros of Seattle and brother Dennis (Helen) Ruble of Centralia, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be at the Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino, WA on October 31, 2008 at 1 pm. Memorial donations are suggested to: The American Heart Association, 710 2nd Avenue, Ste. 900, Seattle, WA 98104.
