Laddie, it has been many years since we met, and I would like you to know, that you are still thought of. Some of the things you talked me into doing are still legendary. Working a wagon in Humboldt park, and instead of using a siren, you used a recording of a Calvary charge. I hope that they have not got tired of your sense of humor in heaven.

Our son Dominick graduated the police academy this week. He carries your badge. It was clouded by the shooting death of a 32 year old officer. Please be his guardian angel and keep him safe. I love you still and your son's are taking care of me best they can.

Dear Sue and the Dworak family,
I just heard of Wally's passing, and words can't describe how bad I feel. He truly was an original, because I've never met anyone like him - a big man with an even bigger heart. I never spoke with him when he didn't mention his family, and his love for Sue, his "girls," and his two young sons was always evident in all that he did. Rest in peace, brother, until we see you again....

my husband, my friend and soulmate. We were always faithful to each other and together were a great team at the schools and anytime help was needed. I miss you so much , I thought we would beat this disease and feel like I failed you. I know you are at rest now and peace. Please guide me with our boys, I will continue to keep my promise and make things as okay as I can. Susan

Dear GodFather.....Thank you for being so supportive and proud of me.....
I will never forget how happy it made me feel, when i opened up the package you sent to me, when i was overseas in Iraq......
to find a Chicago Police toy car in it :)....
My military buddies who were there said ..
"Who is that from?"....
and I replied.....
"It's from my Uncle Laddie...The Detective."

It's hard to put a lifetime of experiences with a brother into a couple of sentences. So I will tell you, Laddie, my daughters never saw my husband's tears except at your bedside in the hospital. I think that says it all. Your sister, Anne.

Dear Family, I still can't beleive Uncle Laddie is gone. The memories I carry in my heart are precious. I can still remember how exciting it was when Uncle Laddie became a police officer, when he played army men in the living room, when he used to yell "gasman" to make Sheba bark and Grandma yell. My prayers for you all are boundless. God keep you all in his grace. My heart is sad for those who remain but Uncle Laddie is with my Mom, Uncle Joey and Grandma. love susan

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad! I'll never forget him making us THE BEST BLT's in the world! Or when he sat and watched Pretty in Pink with us when we were younger. He was a cool guy.
Love to you both, Beth

Dear Susan....I worked with Wally (and his buddy Al) in Area 5. He always brought so much sunshine into a really, at times, dreary job. My husband and my prayers will be with you and the boys

Dad,
I love you more than words could ever say. I miss you! I will always remember you taking me & Lori to Kiddieland, Jake's on Milwaukee Ave. for Silver Dollar Pancakes & the "visit" to the "treasure chest" when you paid the check, the Swieconka's every year at Easter at St. John's, the smell of your cigars, Christmas Eve's with the entire DWORAK family, your delicious Farmer's Breakfast, and you MAKING me eat my sweet potatoes when I told you I didn't like them. We will always be your "Lil' Coco Dee Dee" and "Lola Bola Sour Head".
Love,
Denise

I've known "Laddie" for a very long time through my brother-in-law Frank and sister Karen. What I remember is a man that you always wanted to be around because he was a wonderful story teller with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. My sympathies go to his family and friends in this time of deep sorrow.
