Vivian Reppert Obituary

Vivian Ruth Reppert was born in Portland, Oregon on January 6, 1922.
She married her first husband, Joseph Hurd and had one son, Gary. After they divorced she met and married her second husband, Floyd Reppert in 1946. They settled in Tacoma and together they had three children, Richard, Jackie and Tana. At the time of Floyd's death, they had been married for 55 years.

Vivian is survived by her four children; Gary Joseph Hurd (Helen) of Hudson, FL, Richard Allen Reppert (Lydia) of Sonoma, CA, Jacquelyn Dianne Blackwood (Jeffrey) of Arnold, MO and Tana Marian Belcher (Jon) of Marysville, WA. Eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive her. The 10th great-grandchild is due to arrive in mid June. One brother, Vincent Rawlins (Helen) of Ephrata, WA and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved "Aunt Vivian's" pies, also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, brother Marion and one grandson, Gary Joseph Hurd, Jr.

She dearly loved her family. She especially enjoyed gatherings with extended family at Thanksgiving, Christmas and picnics at Point Defiance Park on the 4th of July. She always had fresh baked cookies waiting for the grandchildren when they arrived for visits.

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil: my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

In loving memory of a good friend, a sister in Christ, and a fun person to be with. Heaven has been enriched, and earth made poorer.

Vivian, we cannot see you, but your influence lives on. You raised a wonderful daughter in Tana who joined the Belcher family as wife, sister-in-law, aunt, mother, and now grandmother. Your quiet and generous spirit is an example for all of us. Christ tells us that he has gone to prepare a place for us. (John 14:1-2) You are now celebrating in the place that he prepared for you.

we will miss you mom. You were a great mother and grandmother. Gary left home when he was 17 to join the navy.but he left part of his heart in Tacoma with you. You were a great mother-in-law to me. The day Gary Jr. was born you went to church and they they said good morning Mrs. Reppert and she said it was Grandma Reppert, from now on. Rest in peace mom and give Gary Jr. a kiss from us. Also thank you for the peanut brittle recipe. it took me over thirty years to get it. it never came out as good as yours though.
Love Helen and Gary
