She was the beloved wife of Thomas M. O'Brien.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1948, daughter of the late Rita (Doneski) Lovett. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in education, and received her master's degree from Suffolk University in Boston.
Mrs. O'Brien had been employed as a guidance counselor for MassBay Community College.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church, and was a Eucharistic Minister for 15 years.
She was active in writers groups around the country.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lindsay A. O'Brien of Chelmsford; two sons: Thomas M. O'Brien IV and Tyler J. O'Brien, both of Chelmsford; a sister, Susan Lovett of Woburn; two brothers, Donald Lovett Jr. of Chelmsford, and Stephen Lovett of Woburn; and many nieces and nephews.
