Meccia, Virginia (nee Herman), 79, of Norwood Park, U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Beloved wife of the late Vito Meccia, loving mother of Chris and David (Valerie) Meccia, proud grandmother of Nicholas and Matthew, dear sister of Dan Herman and Arlene DePesa, fond aunt of Michael and Jimmy DePesa. Visitation Friday, from 4 to 9 p.m., at The M. J. Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Highway, Chicago. Funeral Saturday, 9:30 a.m., prayers at the funeral home to Saint Thecla Church. Mass 10 a.m. Memorials appreciated to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60635. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
