Family-Placed Obituary

HOBBS, Virgil S. age 87 of Dayton, died Friday, October 22, 2004 at his home. He retired from Burger Iron Company after 47 years of service. He was a life-long member of the Kitty Hawk Golf Course and was an avid fisherman. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Catherine L. Hobbs in 1989. Survived by a loving daughter: Pat Hobbs of Alexandria, VA, 2 loving sons: Ronald and his wife Linda Hobbs of Union, Ted Hobbs of Dayton, 3 grandchildren: Jeff and Chris Hobbs, Tammy Burkett, 5 great-grandchildren: Alexandria Hobbs, Ashley and Andrew Hobbs, Taylor and Catherine Burkett, 1 brother: Marion Hobbs of Dayton. Services will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Children's Medical Center in Virgil's memory.
