Violet Skains Obituary

Violet Skains, 94, of Bellmead, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at a local nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Adams officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Antioch Cemetery near Mt. Calm. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home. Mrs. Skains was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Rosebud, Texas, to John and Lennie (Eggebrecht) Broomfield. She was a homemaker and a member of Bellmead Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter; and two sons. Survivors include her sons, Donald Skains of Bellmead; H. J. Skains of Fort Worth, and J.B. Skains of Waco; step-son, James Ray Skains of Mansfield; 21 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
