Zizzo, Vincent R. "Vince"

Age 96, passed away peacefully at home at Marian Village in Homer Glen on Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Chicago, and a resident of Lockport since 1996. A United States World War II Army Veteran, he was part of the Occupation Army in Japan after World War II. Member of the Homer Glen American Legion Post #2011, and St. Dennis Church, Lockport. Vincent enjoyed his retirement golfing until he was 92, was fond of dancing with his wife, pheasant hunting, and working on puzzles in his later years. He worked as an electrician at the South Water Filtration Plant, City of Chicago for many dedicated years retiring in 1992. A proud member of the Electricians Union IBEW Local 134. Above all else he cherished spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Phyllis (Nee: Kaisi) Zizzo (2021); his son, Anthony A. Zizzo (2020); his parents, Anthony and Grace (Nee: De John) Zizzo; two brothers, Frank and Thomas Zizzo; and three sisters, Ann Davis, Mary Gasparro, and Rose Cascio.

Survived by three devoted children, Irene (Jack) Davies of Homer Glen, Celeste (late Rick) Hayward of Manhattan, and Steve (Krista) Zizzo of Denver, CO., daughter-in-law, Kim Zizzo of Homer Glen; nine cherished grandchildren, Jack, Christine, Neil, Tony, Joe, Jessica, Allie, Becky, and Sophia; 18 adored great grandchildren, with #19 on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials in Vincent's name can be made to the Marian Village Gift of Care Fund.

Prayers will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9 th St. Lockport, IL 60441 9:15am proceeding to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment following Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park. Visitation at the funeral home Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
