Vincent D'Olimpio Obituary
Born April 22, 1918, in Clinton, he was the son of the late Felix and Elvira (Garofoli) D'Limpio. He returned to his hometown after serving in the Army during World War II in Europe, and received the Purple Heart.
Vinny resumed his lifelong career as a restaurateur, owning many noted dining establishments and inns across Massachusetts, including D'Olimpio's Skylight Room in Clinton, the Paxton Inn, and the Uxbridge Inn. He retired to the Cape in 1970, but came out of retirement in 1977 to open D'Olimpio's New York Deli & Bakery in Hyannis with his wife and children.
Vinny touched the lives of many as his passion for food and people was rewarded with countless friends throughout the years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Vincent Jr. of Barnstable and Francine of Provincetown; his brother, Felix Jr.; and two sisters, Phyl Garrity and Nora Heinig. He was the brother of the late Angelo D'Olimpio; and the loving "Papa" to three grandchildren, Lucy, Lily, and the late Sammy D'Olimpio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main St., Centerville on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours in John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Marstons Mills on Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorials in his name may be made to "Sammy Montana D'Olimpio Youth Foundation" c/o Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, Route 6A, West Barnstable, MA 02668.

Vinny,
We're very sad to hear of your dads passing, sorry we din't know in time. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. He was a great guy, especially since he let us "raid" the deli in the wee hours....many moons ago.

HE ALWAYS ASKED ME- JAMI DO YOU THINK THE RAIN WILL HURT THE RUBARB? HE ALSO LOVED TO GO IN THE KITCHEN, MAKE HIS MEATBALLS AND RILE UP THE COOKS AND COME BACK OUT WITH A BIG GRIN ON HIS FACE.
