He will be missed by all, a great officer and friend.

I worked for Vince years ago...he's was definitely a one of a kind and a tuff act for anyone to attempt to follow. Truly a great guy who loved his job. He will be missed. My sympathy to the family.

One was making everyone feel like his best friend and the other was bringing levity to any situation no matter how tense. Vince had a heart of gold. We are sure those who went before him are smiling more since he has joined them. We are honored to have known him.

Like all the others have said, Vince was without a doubt the finest guy you could have ever worked for or met. A class guy all the way. He'll be missed.

Joe, although I have never had the pleasure of meeting you I knew of you through your father. I like many others worked with him and found him to be one of the most fair, knowledgeable and likeable bosses. Boss is probably not the correct word for your dad because everyone respected him as a boss but yet he treated everyone like a friend. I, like many people worked for your father for a while in the 8th district, and then upon leaving ran into him at other levels and places. He never failed to say Hi and How are you doing. He truly was a class act.

To the Candella Family: No finer man lived, no better police officer served this city, no more knowledgeable supervisor of and for officers (whom he shared and imparted his wisdom on those of us) who were friends, coworkers, or acquaintenaces of Vince's. Our world is sadden by his passing but we are uplifted in the fact that Vince will not sufffer any more and that he will be with God (provided that God rides a Harley).

Vince will surely be missed. He was a wonderful man.

I had the pleasure of working with Vince at the 8TH. District several years ago. He was a great boss and a true gentleman. I would like to extend to his family my condolances and let them know he will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I was so sad to hear of Vince's passing. I've known him since DeLaSalle. He was always just a wonderful guy. He never had a bad thing to say about anybody, and way always smiling and laughing. I never actually worked for him, but our paths have crossed many times. No matter what it was, he never got shook, and everything could be worked around. He was a one-of-a-kind on the CPD. He will be missed by the many people he touched. I look forward to seeing him again in the hereafter. My prayers are with you all.

It is at times like this that we realize not only how precious life is, but

I worked in 008 with him as the boss! i personally will miss seeing him riding his motorcycle when he stopped by my house and just talked. The Prince, as he was known to us, and I am sure other CPD as well, was a great guy who brought happiness to everyone who knew him. I worked first with Jimmy's mother Rose - back in '80 and then with Jimmy and Jimmy O'Neil in 018 - they were my partners on the Vice Team. I am so very sad for Jimmy's family and friends - we have truly lost a funny, thoughtful, kind man. My memories are all wonderful and filled with good times and great laughs. He will be missed.
