Vernon Wallace Obituary

Wallace, Vernon L. Beloved husband of Gladys (nee Edwards) for 48 years; caring brother of Arnold (Deborah); devoted and loving uncle and godfather of many, entered eternal life on August 30, 2012 at 8:45 p.m. Vernon was a Marshall H.S. Alumni Hall of Famer, a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science, a former President of the Illinois Select Morticians Association, a delegate for the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Inc. a member of the Maywood Rotary Club, Broadview Teenage Boys Baseball Team sponsor, render volunteer service to the Village of Maywood and the Village of Broadview Police and Fire Departments, a mentor to Mortuary Science students and a faithful and dedicated member of Original Providence Baptist Church in Chicago for 59 years. Vernon and his wife, Gladys, are the proud owners of Wallace Broadview Funeral Home in Broadview, IL. Viewing will be Friday, September 7 from 12 - 4 p.m. at Wallace Broadview Funeral Home, 2020 W. Roosevelt Rd., Broadview, IL; a Memorial Tribute will also be on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Original Providence Baptist Church, 515 N. Pine Ave., Chicago. Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Wallace will be Saturday, September 8 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1309 W. Madison Street, Maywood, IL. Visitation at 9 a.m. and Services at 11 a.m. Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
