Crane, Velma Elizabeth beloved wife of the late Elmer M.; loving mother of Michael (Nancy) Crane, Gael Crane, Susan (Jim) Crowley, Cathryn Lynn, Julie and Joyce Ann Crane. Cherished grandmother of Susan and Christopher (Sue) Crowley, Robert "Tony" (Letty) Marsico, Cathleen "Moon" (Tim Balin) Crowley, Cathryn "Boop" (Larry) Kern, Colleen (Bill) Metz, Jeanne (Ken) Walters, Jennifer Hahne, Caroline T. Crane and great-grandmother of 16. Dear sister of the late Eleanor Vogler. Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born in Detroit, MI, Velma was a graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School in South Bend, IN where she where she met her husband Elmer, a Notre Dame Law School Graduate. Velma and Elmer later moved to Sauganash where they raised their 6 children. Beside her love of her family and friends, Velma was an avid bowler well into her 80's and a devoted fan of Notre Dame Football. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father John Smyth, c/o Notre Dame College Prep, 7655 W. Dempster St., Niles, IL 60714. Visitation Wednesday 9:15 AM-10:15 AM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Avenue, Chicago. I am so sad to learn about your loss of your mom. I remember her as being so pretty and so pleasant all of the time. You are sure to miss her a lot, but I know you will carry fond memories of her with you always.

Michael, Gael, Sue, Lynn, Julie, Joyce. Onnie Copeland sent your mom's obit to me. Though it's been years - I wanted to send my sympathies. Your mom was always the coolest mom on Lemont. I loved your tv room and the fact that you always had a can of Jays. I don't know how life has treated you and your mom in the 40 years since - I hope you are all well and happy. The Catinos are.
