Tom was one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. He operated with his mind, heart and soul. His kindness and beautiful love for people and friends was beyond comparison...My husband Jim and I first met Tom as clients but that relationship soon turned to friendship. Lake Geneva will never be the same without him...his wines, cigars and fun loving gatherings will remain in my mind forever. Gaile and Taylor...always here for you. Tom...I send positive thoughts and prayers your way! Peace to one of the greatest...so happy to have been part of your life.

Dearest Gaile, Taylor, Family and friends,

Am in shock and it is with a heavy heart that I express my sincerest condolences & sympathies on the passing of Tom.

Tom was not only a good friend, he was a GREAT friend. He was a “guys-guy”. That type of person is very rare.

Weeks and sometimes months would go by between the times we got together , but when we connected the time in-between evaporated instantly as we caught up on family, work, politics and other things.

We would get together at the lake with our families usually @ Bigfoot CC, or just the two of us on bar stools at one of Tom's favorite Lake Geneva waterfront Pubs.

Another special night for me was what Tom called “Boys Night Out” which consisted of Tom, Rico & myself at Gibsons, Tavern, Harry Caray's or a new hot downtown eatery.

I am proud to have known Tom and consider it an honor and a privilege to have called him my friend.
I will truly, truly miss him.

Those of us who met Tom when we started law school in the fall of 1973 quickly learned that he was a special person. Through his dedication to clients, the bar and friends, he spent the next 41 years reminding everyone just how special a guy he was. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Dear Gaile, Taylor and Family of Tom,
Although I never personally met Tom (I did once meet his brother, Dave) I am very proud to have shared with him the same profession and the same name, to which he brought much credit and honor. I did follow his many accomplishments over the years and can say with confidence that Tom was that rare kind of lawyer most of us can only aspire to be.
I was once mistaken for Tom some time ago when a bar association member mailed me a box of cigars that was intended for Tom. I forwarded them on to him with a note quipping that although tempted, I didn't smoke a one. In return I received Tom's prompt and gracious note of thanks.
When my time comes, I can only hope to be mistaken again for Tom, before the powers that be.
Having not long ago lost my beloved wife of almost 40 years, I know how very difficult this time is for you. You can take some comfort in the knowledge that Tom touched many lives and made a very real difference in our world. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Very sincere condolences,

Audrey and Len and Bette Rubin
