TIMOTHY BUTLER Obituary
Smith Funeral Home LTD and Crematory
Timothy A. Butler, born and raised in Sunnyside, passed away Monday, April 12th, at his home surrounded by the ones he loved. He was born on August 7th, 1954, to parents Dwight and Peggy Butler. He attended Sunnyside High school and graduated with his class in 1972. Timm worked 33 years at the local PVC pipe plant that is currently JM Eagle. Anyone who worked with him would tell you that he was a hard worker and did everything to the best of his ability. He met Bridget when he was 24 and they were married in March of 1980. He was an amazing husband, dad, as well as son, son-in-law, and friend. In the last three years he got to add 'Papa' to his list of titles. Other than his Savior, and the love of his life, nothing brought him more joy and happiness than when he could hold, cuddle and play with his small grandkids. Timm loved the Lord with all of his heart and lived every day striving to be a man of God showing Christ's love to everyone he met. He was a great example and role model to his kids and many others around him. He attended both Grandview Assembly and Neighborhood Assembly in his lifetime and served in many areas including Royal Ranger Commander and Men's Ministries director.
Timm was diagnosed with gastric cancer in October of 2009, much to his family's disbelief and horror. The last six months of his life included intense pain, chemotherapy, radiation, along with other things, but he always handled things with strength and courage. Even to his final breath before he went to see his Creator, he had a determination to fight the best he could but also trusted God with his life one hundred percent.
He is survived by his one true love Bridget Butler; his daughter, Stephanie Miller, and husband John and their children John Jr. and Ashlee; his son, Shawn Butler, and wife Krisitina and their daughter Kalee. He is also survived by parents, Dwight and Peggy Butler; and 3 brothers, Glenn, Charlie, and Tony. And by his 'adopted' daughter Kim Sternitzky.
The funeral service with be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 16th, at Neighborhood Church in Sunnyside with the burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
