6/19/2022-I live in North Carolina and was very sad and shocked to learn that Tom had passed in 2018 when I searched for him online recently. I was Laura Flohr at the time, and I worked with both Tom and Vern at NATB-Western Division back in the 1970's. Tom was the office supervisor, and I was the receptionist for three years, left for a while, and was rehired as the bookkeeper. I was 3 years older than him, and he was like a brother to me! We both lived in Oak Lawn not far from each other, and I met his folks. In fact, Tom told me that his dad needed a secretary, so I interviewed, was hired, and worked with Tom Sr. for a short time! I knew Tom Jr. when we were both in our 20's; he was a great guy with a good heart and funny! I lost my second husband Steve Sattler of 37 years in 2019, so I can imagine what Vern is feeling--we both had wonderful husbands! I got emotional remembering Tom, Vern, and others and the connection that we had working together at NATB! Tom is with God now and hope that he met Steve! My deepest sympathy and love to Vern and all of Tom's family! He was a great co-worker and friend!

Shocked and saddened by the passing of a good friend and man.
It is hard to believe that we were just having a conversation less than two weeks ago.
My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with your mother and brothers Kevin and John, who had to endure the death of a husband and father earlier this year.
You are free from all now so spread those wings Tom have yourself some fun.
God knows after the last two years that you deserve it.
Slan a Chara.

Tommy worked with my Dad and sister on the CPD but I had the pleasure of knowing him from the Metra train. He always spoke so lovingly about his family, I remember the day he had his first granddaughter, he announced it to the whole train car, he was so happy, I think if he had enough cigars on him we all would have received one. God bless his family with wonderful memories and the knowledge that you will see this very kind man again. RIP Thomas.
