Gramps- I miss your smile, hugs, laughs, and positivity. I always appreciated your silliness. My favorite memories of you are when you were dancing around and of course singing- FIVE GOLDEN RINGS. You will be missed. Love you.

A few years back I wrote to Tom and my uncle Al Fanning, my only living relatives who were part of the Greatest Generation, to thank the two of them for their service in World War II.
I know Tom was justly proud of having served because in gratitude for my note he presented me with documentation and a coffee mug commemorating his ship the destroyer escort USS Slater. The mug is still on my computer table.
My sincere condolences to all my O'Neill cousins, especially my godmother Margaret Ahern.
