Thomas McCabe Obituary
McCabe-Thomas E. McCabe of Lake Village, IN, age 72 was born on January 31, 1951 in Worth, IL. Beloved husband of the late Sandra (2014). Devoted father of Timothy (Jenn) McCabe and Edward (Cori) McCabe. Proud grandfather of Juniper, Brylianna and Mirabella. Loving brother of Carol (Walter) Marzec and brother-in- law to Susan Smithers and Jerry Haney. Cherished fiancée of Mary Kibilko and her children; Marge (Terry) Stanfield, Carol (Chris) Pumfrey, Katie (Casey) Toomey and Allan Kibilko and Mary's grandchildren; Sophia, Mae and Noelle. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents Edward and Marian (nee Goberville). Tom served in the US Army serving during Vietnam from 1971- 1972 and was honorably discharged in 1977. He worked as a carpenter at the University of Chicago for 40 years where he was a member of the carpenters union. Tom enjoyed the outdoors, camping, traveling, visiting wineries and breweries, tinkering, woodworking, rooting for Da Bears, spending time with his family and friends and watching his grandkids grow up. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Express your thoughts and condolences at colonialchapel.com 708-532-5400.

Tom and I were friends in High School (HL Richards). We also played in a garage band. Other members were Don Shilney, John Roberts, and a few others. Tom was a great drummer and we all had fun. We didnt make the charts, but we played at a few places. Tom was a great person with an easy going personality. We had fun making music. I will never forget Tom. I worked at the UofC Hospital when Tom was a Carpenter there. He was a good friend and very good at his trade. His personality will be missed.

Always had great talks with Tom at work until he retired. I would then run into him at the VFW in Tinley where we´d share a few beers. RIp
