My sincerest condolences to Patsy and the family. Tom was a joy and a light at State Farm and will be greatly missed. I had the privilege of working with Tom in Dallas. I especially enjoyed his smile when sharing his story on adoption(s). He had a way of connecting with others and sharing the joy from within his soul. I pray you find some solace in the many positive memories with Tom. Thank you,

His love for God definitely showed in every interaction he had with everyone. Truly displayed the fruits of the spirit everyday. A great coworker who will be truly missed. My prayer of thanksgiving to God who will continue to hold Tom's family with a caring and compassion hand. "What a friend we have in Jesus...take it to the Lord in prayer".

Patsy, your Tom, your husband and best friend was a special one of a kind friend to me. We met in 2011 when I was working on assignment on Beltline Rd. I remember you came to meet Tom for lunch and he introduced you. Tom was so good humored, funny and smart. It was infectious to be around Tom Hyland. I always wanted to be around him more. He became my favorite trainer to go to. When Larry and I worked with you Patsy, a couple years ago, I could feel how much Tom and you loved each other and your children. I knew you two were a perfect match for Tom after meeting and working with you. Larry and I are so heart broken for you and the kiddos. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My heart weighs heavy for my friend and his family. Tom was an amazing man who I had the honor to work with. I met Tom in the late 1990's on Cat duty in NJ. Tom and one of his coworkers from the South always called me Yankee. It was a running joke for many years. When I went to Illinois in the earlier pat of the 2000's Tom came and visited me and we laughed about old times and the fun we all had in NJ. He always joked about my New York accent. Tom found out 2 years ago my husband and I adopted and was so extremely happy for us. I spoke to Tom a few months ago and he was trying to talk me into moving our family to Texas. In all the years I have known Tom, he was a great man, a kind soul. He loved his family, his kids and his wife. Heaven may have gained and angel but I know I will miss my friend. God bless Tom's family, wife and children. With my deepest sympathy

Tom was an incredible person and a delight to work with. We had many occasions to work together, speak about family and God's blessings in our lives. He often stopped by my office just to ask a question and get my input, but it was usually I who learned something during those interactions. I wish I had known him more on a personal level, but reading his obituary, I get the sense the Tom I knew at work was the "real deal". God bless his family. He's in a better place and continuing to watch over all of you now.

My heart goes out to the entire Hyland Family and all relatives. I only met Patsy and Tom and their wonderful children, a few times, but I felt instantly the most loving connection. Connie, Tom's most beautiful mother always saw to me meeting everyone and lovingly brought me into family celebrations and holidays. This saddest of events--I Know--must be a deep burden of heart to all. Tom, I will very much miss getting to know you, but I promise I will learn much about you and always help your family members when they need me. Soar in the heavens as you have done so graciously here on earth.

Words can't begin to express the sympathy we feel on the untimely death of your dearest son, beloved husband, loving father, caring brother, and friend. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. The memories on 73rd Place will never be forgotten and when I started dating Rocco, I was accepted like I lived there my whole life. The block parties were the best!
I hope the expressions of sympathy that you must be receiving from everyone provide some consolation to you. Hopefully, knowing how much he was loved will give you a measure of comfort.
May God continue to hold you as you face the difficult journey of grief ahead. We love you.
