Farewell to my good friend of 55 years. I'll miss our many phone conversations, but know that God has answered your prayers, to be with Him. May you rest in peace!

My Most Wonderful and Favourite brother of my "Grandpa Joe". When you wrote of your readiness to see Father in Heaven, and your desire for Him to take you anytime, and your added laughter, you never spoke or complained of a single pain, yet, your flesh did feel it. How happy this wonderful man must be, knowing 100% his soul would return to God, praising Him his whole life, and now, being reunited with Grandpa, his parents and brethren! How sad it seems on earth, but joyous delight in Heaven welcoming home a child who longed to be there, and for goodness more than flesh desires! How happy he must be- and for that, I am happy. I shall always remember your handsome face, love of stories, and always having a joke- and your wonderful confession of truly loving God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Truly, a magnificent generation is at an end- may we learn from you, and better ourselves doing so! Your letters shall be like treasure to me, and a sentimental journey of everlasting love. In the words of "Bob Hope", "Thanks for the memories"!

Love,

your Great Niece- Lisa :D

Father HOSTY was my favorite at ST. ANGELA in the 40s. I was lucky enough to serve his Masses many times. His sermons were wonderful and I'd love to get a copy of his "SMALL TALKS FOR SMALL PEOPLE" if anyone knows were to find one. GOD BLESS YOU FATHER. REQIESCAT IN PACE

Nehemiah 8: 9-10 "This day is holy unto the Lord your God. Mourn not nor weep. For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law. Go your way, eat the fat and drink the sweet. Send portions to them whom nothing is prepared. This day is holy unto our Lord. Neither be ye sorry. The joy of the Lord is your strength!"
