Dear Aunt Marion,Aunt Lori,Fran, Patrick,Chrissy, and the rest of the Gleason family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Tommy. He was so nice to everyone and he was like an uncle to me. We will all miss him greatly. His personality, laugh, sense of humor, love for family, and friends will stick in all of our minds forever. Tommy worked hard and had fun whenever he had a chance. He brightened my day everytime I saw him. Those vacations were great and Uncle tommy made them even better. And don't foget whenever you see a good movie or a Sox game to think of Uncle Tommy. We will all miss Uncle Tommy forever.

To Tom's family,
Tommy was a gentle soul. He was sweet, kind, and fun, and always sensitive to the needs and feelings of others. You and his friends always knew that, of course. I was acquainted with Tom only through his work, but those qualities were so evident that, when you knew him you had to love him. We spent many grueling days and hours together when Early Edition filmed at UIC. I've never known anyone who worked so hard and with such a sense of responsibility.
Tom was responsible for making everything work smoothly at a location that was a working medical center. He had to meet the ever-changing demands of the director and crew while keeping equipment and crew out of the way of patients and staff. He always accomplished this with the tact and good humor that made it seem effortless, which is why we allowed Early Edition to return again and again.
Tommy managed to do everything with incredible patience and without ever losing that smile or the sparkle in his eyes. I treasure the brief down times when we could talk a little and I discovered how truly special he really was. Thoughts of him will always bring a smile.

Dear Aunt Marion, Anne, Lor, Fran, Chris, Pat et al:
I feel so utterly helpless and devasted by this - he was my brother, my support through the tough college years but most importantly my true friend. Tommy was the best listener I ever met - he always wanted to hear about your life and never judged. He had a smile and sense of humor that few are blessed with. He made you feel that you were important, that you deserved to be treated with respect from people. Tommy had the gift of finding the joy in the simple things in life, family, friends, the arts, the beauty of the outside and enjoyed a good line from a movie more than anyone I know. I feel so isolated, so far from you. I hope you understand where my heart and soul are. I love you all more than I could ever express.
Love, Su

Tom & I were good friends for the past six years. At work we were allies. He covered me & I tried to cover him. I remember him starting each day at work, putting on his walkie and intensely focusing on the day as he maneuvered and resolved every obstacle for us like Walter Payton running towards the goal line. He carried us across the line every day. As a New York assistant director who never has anything good to say about anybody said about Tom, ”He is the best in the business.”
He was a good friend. We will all miss him.
