Life repeats itself. Not that long ago my father wrote private things in a memorial tribute book about his older brother.
I now write similarly about mine.
As youngsters Tom and I were inseparable. He was my hero. We protected each other then. Life took its twists and turns and he and I lived separate lives for many years. The recent two weeks I spent with him at his home was effortless and very special to me. It's as though no time had ever passed between us. He was my hero again.
I will forever miss him, and for me, there will always be a deep and private place in my heart where he will always reside.
I pray with all that knew him, that we will see him again.
