Thomas Cook Obituary
Cook, Thomas A. 43 years, suddenly, (Metra P.D.), of Dyer, IN, formerly of Riverdale, proud Veteran of U.S. Army, beloved husband of Pamela (nee Reihel), loving father of James T. and Jessica L., dearest son of Terri and the late Charles (former Police Chief of Riverdale), fond brother of Robert (Kathleen) and Marcia (William) Williams, dear son-in-law of Elaine and the late Paul Reihel, brother-in-law of Richard, James and Terri (Kevin) Hillard, nephew and cousin of many, uncle of Jamie, Gina, Russ, Traci, Ashley, Billy, Jeff and Kayli. Visitation Sunday and Monday, from 2 to 9 p.m., at Drumm Funeral Home, 1200 E. 162nd St., (1 blk. West of I 94 on U.S. Rt. 6/159th St.), South Holland. Friends and fellow officers are requested to meet Tuesday, at Holy Ghost Church, 170th and Cottage Grove for a service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Oakland Memory Lanes Cemetery. Tom was formerly a Police Officer in Riverdale for 10 years and on the Metra P.D. for 4 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cook Family Trust Fund c/o Unicorp, 8615 Wicker Ave., St. John, IN, 46373. MY HEART BREAKS WHEN I THINK OF A MOM LOOSING HER SON, A WIFE LOOSING HER HUSB, CHILDREN LOOSING THEIR FATHER & BROTHER & SISTER LOOSING THEIR BROTHER. My deepest sympathies go out to Tom's family. I have known Tom since 4th grade at Washington school in Riverdale. What a wonderful man he was! The Cook Family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My prayers go out to the family. It was only a couple of weeks ago (during a really bad rain), that I was stranded at this station. I left my cell phone, and my husband was in the Chgo loop thinking I was still at work. It was dark, I was alone and terrified. Officer Cook allowed me to call my husband, and words can't explain how relieved I was just knowing he was there. He was extremely helpful, and my husband and I were so greatful for his presence. I am truly sorry for your loss; he was obviously a GREAT man, and loved by many. I just wanted to share this story with you, and to let you know that many who didn't even know him, consider him a hero. My heart goes out to you all. God Bless.. The Bell family
