Blakely Jr., Thomas Clovice set an example of integrity, adventurousness and generosity that inspired all who met him. Mr. Blakely passed on August 1, 2003. He leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife, Betty (nee Covington); daughter, Erica; son, Timothy; grandson, Johnny; and sisters, Phyllis, Legertha and Judith. He was a kind uncle to many nieces and nephews and was dedicated to improving the lives of young African American men. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war. Mr. Blakely was an investigator for the Cook County Sheriff's Department and an entrepreneur for many years. We may grieve here on earth, but Heaven celebrates with a shout of jubilation. He will be missed. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
