Thomas Allen Obituary

Ellen & Family,

We are very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He will always be remembered for his smile and friendship and for his caring and giving ways. Tom was a great person and will be truly missed by everyone. Our sincere condolences to all (he's in good company now).

the Allen Family, know that Tommy was a very good troop. We served with him
in the 928th CES. We will all miss him, his honor, his patriotism and his
terrific sense of humor, very much. The Lord now has a fantastic NCO to help
get things right.

Tom was a very kind, bright, fun and helpful neighbor for thirteen years in Green Garden. Tom is one of the few who responded to problems and concerns with a smile and a caring let's get it done attitude. He amazed us with his numerous skills and stories about creating the re-wiring of Soldier Field as well as his fascinating side jobs which introduced him to so many characters. Tom taught us how grand life is when you take care of everyone around you first.

My deepest sympathies to all of the Allen family. I worked with Tommy at UIC for a short time. He never failed to make me smile every time I saw him. He was a true character and a great guy. He will be missed.

To the Allen Family ~

You are a strong loving family that doesn't deserve a loss like this. Big Tom will always live in your hearts! I cherish all the memories your family has provided to me. I can't wait for more to come. Will all my love and support!

May all the past times comfort the present times. Everyone who was lucky enough to be friends with your family has been blessed. The stories are both endless & priceless! Tom was like Harry Porterfield always said "Someone You Should Know"

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have only met Tom a few times but he made quite an impression on me. His open-heart and good humor were obvious to anyone who came in contact with him. And listening to the stories that Tricia and Tom would tell of him made it obvious that he was a man who loved and lived life to the fullest. I am so sad that he is gone and my thoughts are with you.

Big Tom was certainly bigger than life and he always had a good joke or story to tell. He really liked to make people laugh and the world is now a little bit sadder place because of his absence.

Our children are our legacy and often the greatest mark we make on this world when we move on. It is undeniable that we live on through our children in character and through the sharing of memories. We had not yet had the privilege of meeting “Big Tom”, but we’ve been blessed to have “Little” Tom and Tricia (and now baby Olivia) in our lives. Tommy is and will continue to be one of the most genuine, compassionate, and loveable men we have ever met. I am sure this speaks volumes to the type of man his father was.

We are so sadden to hear of the passing of our dear friend Tommy Allen. As a co-worker he was #1 in my book. I learned so much from him and he was so understanding when I didn't understand. My son & I will always remember the wonder time at the Annual Pig Roast. My son & his friend still talks about it today. I will cherish the memories of Tom forever. God has placed a star above to shine over the family forever. Tom was truly a blessed man.

Dear Ellen, Tim, Tom and Shannon, I only knew Uncle Tom since 2004, but he became one of my dearest freinds. I have never known a more giving and loving man. His love of his family, the Bears, and Mercury has left a deep impression on me. God Bless my Uncle Tom, Love Garry
