Mckanna, Theresa
Theresa McKanna (Vander Laan) A.K.A. "Chick", age 91, of Oak Lawn, IL passed away on October 5th, 2021. Theresa was proceeded in death by her loving husband James and beloved son Jimmy. She is survived by her sons Michael (Karen) and Edward (Carolee); brother Dr. Cornelius Vander Laan; grandchildren Kyle (Chelly) McKanna, Mari (David) Elkins, Ryan, Joshua and Justin McKanna, Frank (Stephanie) Colaianni and Anthony Paige; great grandchildren Evan and Ivy McKanna, Cameron and Shelby Elkins and Francesa Colaianni. Theresa was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and elated great grandmother. She worked in her brother Neal's dermatology practice for 25 years. She was a devout Christian, an avid reader, chocoholic, Chicago sports fanatic (except the Cubs). Chick took great pride in her family, home and community. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her generous kind spirit. Visitation Monday, 10am until time of service at 12pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Avenue.
