Theresa (Terry) A. Brands

Theresa (Terry) A. Brands, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away unexpectedly at Valley Medical Center, Saturday, February 17, 2007.

Terry was born in Barton, Ohio, April 24, 1924. Her family then relocated to Detroit, Michigan. On September 6, 1947, she met the love of her life, Clark E. Brands after he returned from serving in the Seventh Division in WWII. He was attending Wayne State, studying pharmacy. They married the following year and resided in Detroit where they had two children. Terry was actively involved in her children's education, with PTA and fundraising. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and loved her flower and vegetable garden. In 1963, the family moved to Seattle, where they lived until relocating to Kent in 2000. Terry enjoyed reading, cooking and visiting her grandchildren in California.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clark E. Brands. Children, Alan D. Brands and daughter-in-law, Dorothy of Kent, WA. Pamela D. Brands and son-in-law, Thomas Oberhelman of Cupertino, CA. Grandchildren, Taylor and Wesley Oberhelman of Cupertino, CA., as well as three step-grandchildren, Linda Kilekas and husband Brett Kilekas, Deann Atkins and husband Kevin Atkins, and Debi Green. She also had five great-grandchildren Ashley and Grant Kilekas, Dana and Erika Atkins and April Ruth.

A family celebration of her life is planned at a later date.
