Theodore Rummel Obituary

Rummel, Theodore "Ted" 88, passed away January 10th, born November 11, 1918, beloved husband of Georgina (nee Daleanes) and the late Lillian, devoted father of George Theodore (Kathleen) and S. Michael (Melanie), loving grandfather of Christopher, Jared, Haviland, Jessica and Jordan, dear brother of William (Zoe). Founder and Executive Emeritus of Rummel & Associates Insurance Agency. Ted was an Insurance Executive for 50 years, during which he touched the lives of hundreds with his kindness and sense of humor. His clients invariably became his close friends and depended upon him for his valued advise. As a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church, he served on the Board of St. Demetrios, Annunciation Cathedral and Assumption Churches. Ted was an active member of the American Legion Evzones Post #1039. He will be remembered for his wry smile, the twinkle in his eyes and his deep love for his wife and family. Family and friends will meet Saturday, at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Ave., Chicago for a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of Services 10:30 a.m. Visitation Friday, 3 to 8 p.m., at the Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. (2 ½ blocks west of Route 83), Oakbrook Terrace. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory to the Hellenic American Museum, 801 W.
