Terry Whalen Obituary

Whalen, Terry R. 59, formerly of Lombard, IL, died suddenly August 31, 2008, at his home in Baltimore, MD, after graduating from St. Mel High School, Terry forged an impressive career in hospital administration, starting with a clerical position at Cook County Hospital and culminating in the vice presidency of patient services at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Preceded in death by his father, John R. Whalen, Terry is survived by his loving mother, Virginia, his children, Terry Jr. (Tracy), Connor (Cathleen) and Kate (Ben Fedor), his grandchildren, John Robert, Lisa and Taylor, his brothers, John (Carol), Patrick (Alyce) and William, his sisters, Colleen McGreer, Joanette Gerrity (Patrick), Mary Fuentes (Richard), Anne Obucina (Thomas), Maureen Duggan (Frank) and Margaret Whalen and 19 nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday, 9 a.m., at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, to St. Eugene Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
