Teddy Dorris Obituary

Dorris, Teddy E. Age 72, entered eternal life on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Cecilia (Sansone) Dorris and his children, Jeannie Rogerson, Matthew Dorris, Josiah Milton, Linda Rolnicki, Rich Versetto, Judy Zehr and Debbie Steele. Ted is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and his sisters, JoAnn Rowen, Teri Power, Michelle Kennedy and Dawn Zenor. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his adoring parents, Bob and Maxine Dorris; his brother, Donny White; sister, Tammy Shephard; and stepson, Tony Versetto. Teddy was born on August 13, 1945 to the late Bob and Maxine Dorris. He was a lifelong truck driver. Teddy was an avid fisherman; he was a handy man who enjoyed fixing and building things and also loved to cook. He always looked forward to his yearly vacation reuniting with his close friends from USF Holland. Teddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teddy's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or Joliet Area Community Hospice. A celebration of Teddy's life will begin on Monday, November 6, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
