Sonkin, Sylvia G. (nee Quater), beloved wife of the late Max, loving mother of Edward M., Elaine I. and Ronald (Linda) Sonkin, adored grandmother of Myles G. (Yu), Helene L., Randy (Rebecca), Lynn (Jason) Greenbaum, Marc (Penny) and Lesly (Jeff) Fountain, cherished great-grandmother of Corey, Tyler, Joshua, Andrew, Zachary, Christopher and Samantha, devoted friend to many. Services Tuesday, 11 a.m., at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St.), Skokie. Interment Westlawn. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Cancer Research Foundation, P.O. Box 0493, Chicago, IL 60690.
