It was because of Sydney's dedication as a volunteer reader at Blind Service Association that so many blind and visually impaired students were able to earn their degree from school. She was particularly instrumental in helping Brady Adams graduate college and then law school by reading hundreds of pages of political science and law text books. For many years Syndey also devoted her time on the scholarship committee playing an active role in helping to award scholarships to hundreds of blind and visually impaired students pursuing their educational goals. I remember not too long after Sydney started volunteering at Blind Service Association she asked me how she could become a board member because she wanted to do so much more. I introduced her to Bea Fredman who was then the Executive Director and not too long after that Sydney was elected to Blind Service Association's Board of Directors which she served on for the past 20 years.
I will always remember Sydney having a heart of gold and being so caring and kind.
My sincere sympathy to Marvin, David and Neal and their families and her brother Manny who she spoke of often.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Sydney. Take comfort in the 62 years of marrage. That's quite an enviable accomplishment.
