Steven Molo Obituary

Molo, Steven Steven Molo, 88, Sun City, Huntley, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. While he was born to John and Julia Molo in Chicago on October 20, 1919, he lived in Poland for 10 years as a boy, then returned with his family to Chicago. He attended Assumption B.V.M. Grammar School and Fenger High School. He worked as a time-study engineer for Chicago Malleable Castings, Clark Equipment Company and U.S. Railways Mfg. He lived with his family in Palos Hills for 33 years before moving to Huntley in 2004. He married his loving wife Alice Babinski on June 23, 1956 and she, along with their children Steven (Dr. Mary Wood), Susan (Dr. Derek) van Amerongen, Juliane (Scott) Woepke and Sharon (Bruce) Scott survive him. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Alex, Madeline, Julia and Allison Molo, Corrie, Greg and Grace van Amerongen, Anna and Jack Woepke and Amanda, Amy and Tommy Scott, whose education and activities he followed with great pride. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Anthony and his sisters, Genevieve and Josephine. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, a loyal usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palos Hills for 25 years and an avid golfer. Visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Huntley/Dundee Rd., Huntley, Tuesday, January 8, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 8245 West 111th St., Palos Hills, from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th St., Worth, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to St. Mary Church Building Fund, 10307 Huntley/Dundee Rd., Huntley, IL 60142 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Uncle Steve will always be remembered as the man who made me a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. He took me to my first game in Wrigley Field as a little boy and the rest is history.
