Steve Petrovas Obituary

Petrovas, Steve "Stathis" age 89. Born in Pazaraki, Messinia Greece. Beloved husband of Kornelia nee Filou. Devoted son of the late Panagiotis and Maria. Loving father of Dr. Peter (Stella) and Dr. Demetrios (Venetia) Petrovas. Proud papou of Dr. Steven, Maria, Georgia, Steven, Cornelia and Konstantine Petrovas. Dear brother of Ekaterini, Kaliroi, Aliki and the late George, Evangeliki, Demo, Eleni and Yanni. Fond uncle of Diane (Tom) Wojcik and many nieces and nephews, here and in Greece. May his memory be eternal. Steve was the great grandson of the legendary Greek Independence leader of 1821, Mitro Petrova who took part in the first battle of Valtetsi. Visitation Tuesday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Wednesday morning at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 2727 W. Winona St. Chicago, IL 60625 for visitation from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 10:30am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Demetrios Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by JOHN G. ADINAMIS FUNERAL DIRECTOR, LTD. (773)736-3833.
