Stephen Carlson Obituary

Steve carried on a great tradition, when he worked he worked hard and when he played he played hard. We were so glad to have spent the day with Steve, Eileen, Jean, Ann, and kids last summer when we were in Chicago. What a great day we had! Take care, cherish your wonderful memories.

Dear Jean and family, I send sincere condolences for you loss. Communicated with Steve several times in a mutual interest, genealogy, and appreciated his ins ights. Wish I had had an opportunity to meet Steve and to know him better. May he rest in peace.

Our friendship goes back many, many years. Our children were small when we met you and Phil in 1956. We were so sorry to hear that Steve died.

Steve was completely unique. I remember once, I felt I deserved a compliment. And, his answer was...."even a blind squirrel finds nuts!" That's the kind of man he was and he was one of a kind. I learned so much working for him. Be happy with your memories and that you had the opportunity to share 25 years with him.

Jeremiah 31:13, I will turn the morning into gladness and I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Eileen, I just wanted to offer my condolences and to start it off with a Bible Scripture. I'll never forget that time I told Steve that I had sat in his chair in his office just to see what it felt like and he said to me "Ernestine, there's a camera in here." We both started laughing and I told him, "Well you better pull that tape because I sure sat in this chair and put my feet up on this desk and he started laughing again. He was alright with me. Eileen, Steve was a great guy and I'll remember all the fun times we had together with Ray. You both will be in my prayers and thoughts. Anything you need - I'll be there for you.

I am truly sorry for your loss. While I worked with Steve for many years I never really got to know him until I began golfing with him the last three years. I really enjoyed his company and found him to be a kind and caring person. I will always keep him in my prayers.

Will always remember the great fun we had working together.

I am at a loss for words to convey my sorrow to Eileen and the family. He was a great "boss" and an exceptional man. I'm glad our paths crossed and hope they will again one day.

A great neighbor, golf partner, friend, Fix-it man, and a plain old good guy. Everyone should be as lucky as Jackie and I were to have the privilege of knowing someone like Steve and Eileen - someone close by and we could always count on - no matter what day or time - and call our friends. Someone who would still open the door even when I was bugging him too much. Thank you for always being there. I miss you buddy. But I won't forget you.
