Stephen Carlson Obituary

Carlson, Stephen 55, of Hoffman Estates, beloved husband of Eileen Priest (nee Gomolinski), father of Grant, cherished son of Jean (nee Beckwith) and the late Phillip, dear brother of Ann Marie Carlson (Mary Ellen Strom) and Sarah Kwiat, fond uncle of Hannah, Daniel, Joseph, Abbey and Nora. Steve was an avid outdoorsman who had a special affection for dogs, Man's other best friend. He excelled at all he attempted in Life: Golf, Sailing, Tennis, Woodworking and best of all "inventing". His many, many friends knew him to be a loyal and trusted friend whose advice and counsel could always be counted on to guide them in life. Steve's unfailing kindness and generosity touched the life of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him whether for a minute or for decades. He will be dearly missed by all. "See you later, Alligator...". Services private. Donations to the Buddy Foundation, P.O. Box 334 Arlington Heights, IL, 60006, 847-813-7206, would be appreciated. Arrangements by: Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory. (630-847) 289-8054. Visit Guest Book at www.suntimes.com

Not sure what to say?

Randy & Lorraine Carlson

Steve carried on a great tradition, when he worked he worked hard and when he played he played hard. We were so glad to have spent the day with Steve, Eileen, Jean, Ann, and kids last summer when we were in Chicago. What a great day we had! Take care, cherish your wonderful memories.

Dear Jean and family,

Our friendship goes back many, many years. Our children were small when we met you and Phil in 1956. We were so sorry to hear that Steve died.

Our love and sympathy,

Norm and Elsie

Eileen,

Steve was completely unique. I remember once, I felt I deserved a compliment. And, his answer was...."even a blind squirrel finds nuts!" That's the kind of man he was and he was one of a kind. I learned so much working for him. Be happy with your memories and that you had the opportunity to share 25 years with him.

Jeremiah 31:13, I will turn the morning into gladness and I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. Eileen, I just wanted to offer my condolences and to start it off with a Bible Scripture. I'll never forget that time I told Steve that I had sat in his chair in his office just to see what it felt like and he said to me "Ernestine, there's a camera in here." We both started laughing and I told him, "Well you better pull that tape because I sure sat in this chair and put my feet up on this desk and he started laughing again. He was alright with me. May God Bless and keep you during this time of Bereavement.

Eileen,

I am truly sorry for your loss. While I worked with Steve for many years I never really got to know him until I began golfing with him the last three years. I really enjoyed his company and found him to be a kind and caring person. I will always keep him in my prayers.

I am at a loss for words to convey my sorrow to Eileen and the family. He was a great "boss" and an exceptional man. I'm glad our paths crossed and hope they will again one day.

He was Ralph - I was Norton.

A great neighbor, golf partner, friend, Fix-it man, and a plain old good guy. Everyone should be as lucky as Jackie and I were to have the privilege of knowing someone like Steve and Eileen - someone close by and we could always count on - no matter what day or time - and call our friends. Someone who would still open the door even when I was bugging him too much. Thank you for always being there. I miss you buddy. But I won't forget you.

Your Friend-

Norton
